I believe that every design and image first involves a creative thought process; this includes color choice, conceptualization, and construction. My goal is to bring to reality the dreams of my client through digital or printed means. The ability to communicate the client’s idea visually is the job of the designer. I like to keep my work simple, but relevant. During the conceptual stage of each project the first things that I take into consideration are typography, placement, and audience. My style of design incorporates edge and simplicity, usage of color, type, and shape to convey the client’s specific purpose. My mission is to give the client what they ask for in a clean, pristine, edgy, thought provoking design. It is my mission to create beautiful pieces of art that not only functional but also aesthetically pleasing to the audience. After all, my job is to sell, and in this world looks are everything.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe that color is the foundation of all of my projects. One of the first things I ask a client is, what colors do you love? What colors do you hate? That lets me know where I stand with the design. All of my designs have 3 color elements. First the base color, which sets the stage for the rest of the design. Second the primary color, which will often be used in typography throughout the design. The last color I choose is the accent color. This color adds to the emotion, aesthetics, and the overall feeling of the design. I love color theory, and using color as meaning and purpose. Each color evokes a particular feeling from your audience. A truly important part of the overall design process.

COLOR

This is a very relevant statement in the design world. I think that the conceptual stage is by far the hardest part of the design process, but the most rewarding. This stage is truly a test of creativity and mental awareness. I believe that designers should always have a firm plan when it comes to taking on any project. As designers we should be able to set a stage for our client, after all as graphic designers or design are made to entice the public. We have to take into consideration our audience, the client’s needs and wants, and most importantly it has to work. So when coming up with a concept you are able to weed out the duds, establish what doesn’t work, what works well, and what is perfect for your client. The design is nothing without a conscious concept.

CONCEPT

There is much to say about creativity, but I will keep this short. Creativity is not something that can be taught, it is something that comes naturally. Each designer has a method, a style, a voice, but without a creative mind we are nothing. Graphic design is advertisement, in order for our design to work well we have to be creative, we have to be unique. Our job point blank is to stand out from the competition; we are here to provide our clients with a visual voice. And we must realize that being creative consist of more than being different, its about being conscious of your surroundings, knowing your motives, and coming up with a concept that will showcase the product properly.

CREATIVITY

Our job as creatives is to ensure that our clients voice is heard and understood. Our main focus is to communicate their ideas in a clear, edgy, and relatable way. I always ask my clients for three words to describe themself and the project, then I ask for colors that they hate. This gives me a foundation to build on. It gives me an idea of my limits and restrictions, and allows me to make and break the rules in a creative way. My main goal is to satisfy the client and to stimulate the audience. So yes the client is always right, because they know what it is that they want. It is my job to show them what they want in a different light.
